Q:
How long is the program?
A: 18 months for men, 12
months for women.
Q: What is a day
like in the center?
A: Each day includes
individual and group counseling, 6-8 hours of Bible College and assigned work
responsibilities. This helps develop discipline and good work habits. Other
activities include recreation, choir, GED classes, care groups, seminars, and
church services. All these combined contribute to their healing and restoration.
Q: What if I am on
probation or parole?
A: We accommodate visit;
we have a good working relationship with the Department of Probation.
Q: Can I work?
A: We have a working
stage portion of the program as students approach completion. Working stage
starts in the 14th month for men and 10th month for the women.
Q: Who takes care of my
children?
A: All arrangements for
someone to care for your children are the student’s responsibility prior to
entering the New Life Centers.
Q: What if I am not a
Christian?
A: we accept all people
who will follow the Christian values and ethics of our program.
Q: Any cost to enter the
program?
A: there is a $75
application fee and a $760 room and board fee each month. However, New Life
Centers doesn’t turn away anyone who doesn’t have the finances to enter the
program.
Q: What if I am on
medication?
A: New Life is strictly a
drug free program and doesn’t permit any of its residents to be on any mood
altering and/or controlled substances.
Q: Can I have money in
while in the program?
A: No student is allowed
to have money in his or her personal belongings until the student has reached
the working stage of the program. Students are allowed to have funds held in a
New Life account and can put in a request for funds for scheduled shopping days.
Q: Can I see my family and call
them?
A: For the first 30 days all students are on a probationary period and are not
allowed any visits or phone calls. Thereafter, students who are married are
allowed 2 calls a week. Students who are married and have children are allowed 3
phone calls a week. If a student is not married and has children they will be
permitted 2 phone calls a week, and if a student is single and has no children
they are allowed 1 phone call weekly. All phone calls are 10 minutes. All visits
with family will begin after 90 days in the program. Students will be allowed 2
visits a month. Visit times and locations will be further explained in the NLC
rulebook.
