Our
History and Vision The vision for the New Life Center started over two decades ago with one homeless man. Rising economics and social pressures and the rampant increase of sin I our society may cause many people to escape their pain through drugs and alcohol. This choice puts them on the road that’s ends in hopelessness, despair, and, too often, death. The vision of the New Life Centers started two decades ago when Pastor Gaspar Anastasi and his family took two homeless men into their own home and showered them with the love of Christ and compassion. Other members of the congregation followed suit until, in 1983, Word of Life Ministries opened the New Life Center for Men. In 1987, a New Life Center for Women was opened. Since that time, hundreds of men and women from across the United States, and the Caribbean have come and found help here. In 2003 the New Life World Outreach Headquarters was established in Fort Myers, Florida. Since its conception in 1983 thousands of men and women from across the United States, and as far away as the Caribbean have come and found help at the New Life Centers. As we seek God, He continues to reveal His vision to us. The are a non-profit, 24 hour a day/ 7 day per week in- house, residential community outreach program. New Life consists of an 18 month Men's Program and a 12 month Women's Program. Our residents come from backgrounds of substance abuse, crime, broken homes as well as mental, emotional and physical abuse. They are men and women whose lives have been ravaged by Satan. Only the power of Jesus Christ can truly change a person’s heart and, until the heart changes, the person’s condition cannot change. New Life works on transforming the inner person. We have found addictions to be nothing more than the outcome of past hurts and wrong decisions resulting from sin. That’s why we seek to heal-not just the addiction-but also the root cause of the addiction. New Life also seeks to restore broken family relationships. Most of our students have children, so we strive to restore these parents to their rightful place in the family unit. Pastor Anastasi knows that only the power of Jesus Christ can truly change a person’s heart and until the heart changes, the person’s condition cannot change. Other programs battle behavior; New Life Centers work on the inner person. Most addictions are the result of past hurts and wrong decisions resulting from sin. That’s why New Life Centers seeks to heal not just the addiction but the root causes of it. Healing does not stop with the individual. New Life Centers also seeks to restore broken family relationships. Because most of our residents have children, their challenges take on added urgency. By helping to restore mothers and father to their rightful place in the family unit, we stand to save a generation of children who are at risk as well. The New Life Centers are a non-profit residential community outreach program. The residents of New Life Centers come from backgrounds of substance abuse, broken homes as well as emotional and physical abuse. New Life Centers bring healing and deliverance from the "inside out."
